I assume our Phil actually meant 'impugnment' - though I am not sure there is such a word in normal usage, and if there is, it should be strangled at birth. So, by substituting 'inge' for 'ugn', he made himself look just a tiny weeny bit ignorant. Oh, and his minor failing to explain how the UK government can limit our population to 70 million as he stated, when every single citizen of the EU has the right of abode here - that was a bit of a giveaway as well.

Well he's on a nice little earner, and doesn't need to be useful as well.

Did you know, your blog doesn't display right in Google Chrome? The left margin overlaps things.

  No, but thanks for the hint. I am resisting switching to the new templates as most of them look so busy - but perhaps I need to think about that (and download Chrome, which is another round tuit thing!)

Too right Lois. I wonder if a few words were swallowed, (left unsaid) that cocked up the sentence. It would have given a different perspective anyway. Nope, our 'stuff it', 'foot in mouth', new minister, desperate to make a splash at any price, definitely got it wrong, we should question his ability to speak and think rayt.

I thought my numeracy was wobbly, but Phil's is sparklingly so. Of the population with the right to be here, some will not produce, some have already done so. Consider this with the 2.5 average family size, which I think might just be reducing a teensy weensy bit, the number shouldn't be exceeded.

However, given that the baby boomers supported their senior generation with their pensions and benefits, we now need the numbers for a bit of support from those behind us. Not all support equates to monetary losses, much of it leads to gains for society and the exchequer. However, that's another discussion.

Is there an 'Emigration' minister as well?
